LILIAN SIMPSON Obituary

SIMPSON, LILIAN S. Nov. 10, 1950 to Oct. 25, 2010 Lilian Serrano Simpson (nee Santos) was born in Olongapo City, Phillipines to Mercedes Serrano and Eleuterio Santos. She was the youngest of nine, and loved fishing every Saturday. She became a talented seamstress, sewing until her strength gave out. She also loved gardening, sharing produce with all of her neighbors. On October 25, she ended her seven year-long struggle with colon cancer. She leaves behind a husband, Peter; children, Rosie, Lorraine, Dorothy, and Peter; and grandchildren, Kathryn and Alexandra. She is dearly loved and missed. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 2, at Church of Christ in National City.

Perhaps God is a poet
who writes with words
of flesh and bone and leaf and flower . . .

Every hour of every day,
words pour out of the Poet’s heart,
and every word is beautiful and true and worth the telling.
And when each poem is perfect,
and there is no more which ought to be said,
the Poet gently takes the words back into His heart
where they are safe forever . . . and then begins again.

Love and Prayers to the Simpson family...
