To all of your grieving family,
Please know that you are thought of and prayed for during your bereavement. I know that "Mrs. Rosa", as I've known her, was a loving and giving person. She was a kindness to my Sister Jean and to me while we were neighbors on Pt. Loma. May she now be with God and shine down in positive ways on all of your lives going forward.
A long ago friend & neighbor,
Rosemary Fox Leal

I'll miss you, Vavoa.

Thanks for sticking around long enough to meet your great-granddaughter, Ashley. When she's a little older I'll tell her all about you over some frozen-solid chocolate chip cookies and hawaiian punch ;-)

You may be gone but you'll never ever be forgotten.

Mom,
I will always miss you and you will always be in my heart. Until the end you showed so much pride and strength. Thank you for always being there for all of us: your love, your care when we were ill, holding and caring for all the new babies in the family, showing us that love was more important than money or things, that being educated was important, sewing our clothes, crocheting beautiful things for us, knitting all the grandchildren their afgans, making Portuguese sweet bread, and keeping our Portuguese roots alive. Until the end, you refused to us a cane, walker or wheelchair. I think that strength and pride is what kept you living for 103 years. I will always remember you words at the end, "God bless you" and "I love you". Now it's time for you to rest, you were a wonderful mother.
Love forever,
You daughter
Antoinette

Words can't express the sadness that I've felt since my Vavo's passing. She's one of the most amazing people that I've been fortunate to have known in my life. She's left me with some of the happiest memories of my life for which I'll never forget. Her spirit will live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. I love her very much and will miss her dearly.

Mom,
I will always miss you and you will always be in my heart. Even towards the end, you always thought of all us first instead of yourself. I will always remember your "God bless you." and "I love you." to us and to everyone who came to visit you. Thank you for all the extra special things you did as a mom: sewing our clothes, always being there when we were sick or needed you, paying for ours and helping with many of your grandchildren's college education, always asking if something was the matter, holding and loving all the new babies in our family, all the Portuguese sweet bread you baked over the years, table clothes you crocheted, afgans you knit for the grandchildren and so much more. You were an inspiritation to me to the end. Despite your 103 years, you refused to use a cane, walker and wheelchair. Your strength and pride is what kept you going for all those years. I'm sure everyone will always remember your "I still live in the same house" to encourage people to come visit you. To the end, you were always welcoming to all, asking "Do you want coffee?" or "Go to the refrigerator and get some food." After 103 years you deserve the rest. I am sure you were surprised and happy to see Tony, and to be with Dad again when you reached heaven.
Your love and spirit will always be with me. I am such a lucky daughter to have had you all those years,
Thank you for you did for me and the whole family.

Love for always and always,
Antoinette
