MARJORIE ARNS Obituary

ARNS, MARJORIE ANNE Our amazing mother, Marjorie Anne Arns, passed away peace-fully at her Chula Vista, CA, home on October 19, 2010, at the age of 83. Marjorie was born on July 5, 1927 in Chicago to Louis and Marguerite Englerth. She had two younger half brothers, William and Robert. Her Lutheran faith served her all the days of her life. Marjorie married her handsome career Navy husband William Emmett in 1947, becoming a homemaker and devoted mother to nine children: Carol, William II, Dale, Timothy, David, Scott, Michael, Jayne and Donna. She also had 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In 1964, the family moved to Chula Vista, CA. Her hobbies included reading, reading and more reading! She was passionate about learning and being informed on current events. Marjorie also enjoyed drawing, watching educational television and soap operas, family gatherings, R.V. camping and spending time at her Mt. Laguna cabin with family and her dogs Radar and Tia. Services will be on Friday, November 5th, 1 p.m. at Glen Abbey's Little Chapel of the Roses. Marjorie was preceded in death by her loving husband Bill and sons David and Scotty. She has now joined them in Heaven. Mom's advice for Living: Keep learning, question what you don't understand and vote! We love you Mommy and will miss you dearly!

To Jayne and all the Arns family and relatives,

Your Mother was a wonderful woman and I have nothing but fond memories of her, when over at the house. You all were so lucky to have such a wonderful woman as your Mom. Now she's with her loving husband (and father) Bill, and sons Scotty and Dave, having a wonderful time! God bless you all.

I'll always remember the trip when Donna, Mike, Jane, along with your folks came to St Louis with your camper in the '70's. That was the first time I met you all and we had such a great time. Mom has told me many stories of her and dad partying with Bill and Marjorie when they'd go out to California. I remember dad's last wish before he passed was to go out and see his brother Bill but he never made it. Now they're all up their together and I'm sure they're still having a good time together. All our love.. Patti, John, Jessye Johnny and Alex Arns Bell

Margie was a very special person. Even though she endured more than most she always kept a smile and a kind word for all. We will miss her!

I will always treasure the memories of dinners with our Moms, the four of us, enjoying each others company, cherishing our Moms together...wine tasting up in Scripps, and all the family gatherings that I was honored to be included in. Marje was a JEWEL, and all 9 of you are the baguettes, surrounding her in love. My most heartfelt sympathys to you. She will ALWAYS be in your hearts!!! Love you all, Lisa Pippen
