OWEN LESLIE MILLER

MILLER, OWEN LESLIE Owen Leslie Miller was the first-born child of Robert Leslie and Elva Wilsie Miller of San Diego California. Born on February 10, 1930, Owen loved San Diego, loved its history, loved its weather, and loved its people. He was proud to be a native. As he aged, however, he made the choice to move to Grass Valley to live near his family, but he always knew that when his last breath was taken, he would return to be planted forever on the hill beside the bay he loved. He died on May 24, 2011. He will be home, now. His life will be remembered at the Church of the Nazarene, 1123 N. Mollison, El Cajon, CA, on June 4, 11 a.m. Owen was famous once when he was a child. He even got to advertise Winters Bread and Qualitee Milk because he was America's youngest pilot; flying an airplane when he was only 11 years old. Owen loved living and traveling. He was fascinated by history and astronomy and flora and fauna and singing and language, well written. He suffered fools poorly and thought that some folks were angels even when they weren't. He knew God and God knew him, though that relationship was often unpredictable. Ah, what a man! He saved and scrimped, but gave generously, anonymously. He adored maps, but hated asking directions.
