Owen Leslie Miller

Owen was an inspirational teacher and a great friend. I will always be grateful to him for introducing me to backpacking and for heading the International Club at Monte Vista High. These two activities led to some of the best experiences of my life, both in the wilderness and during my year as a high school exchange student in Japan. His enthusiasm for the natural world never waned. My heart goes out to Owen's family for your loss. His memory will endure.

Owen was a very kind and caring. He was one of the first to welcome me to Monte Vista. It was a pleasure being on staff with him. He always had a ready smile. My sincere sympathy on your loss.
