RAYMOND STANKOWSKI Obituary

STANKOWSKI, RAYMOND PETER Oct. 17, 1931 to Nov. 26, 2010 Master Gunnery Sergeant USMC, Retired Raymond Peter Stankowski (Sir), 79, died November 26, 2010, after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He is survived by Ardeane (Dani) Stankowski, his wife of 55 years. Mr. Stankowski was born in Wayne County, Michigan to Peter Raymond and Agnes Wenglenski. Mr. Stankowski served 30 years in the United States Marine Corps, seeing action in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. After retirement from the Corps, he worked for Sperry Univac as a computer programmer for defense systems. He enjoyed gardening, watching football and tinkering with his Smart Car. Sir could accomplish anything he set his mind to do. His ability to fix, repair or make-do was a skill he passed on to his children: Cindy, Peter and John Stankowski of San Diego. He will also be missed by grandchildren Carmen and Kyle and great-granddaughter Taylor of England. Services will be held Dec. 11, 2010. For details, please email [email protected]. Semper Fi
