ROY BURR Obituary

BURR, ROY CONLEY Roy Conley Burr was born on November 11, 1914 in Missouri. She married Frank Burr on September 17, 1933. The family moved all over the country while raising their two daughters. When Frank was drafted into the Army, they moved to Missouri to live with her parents in Columbia, Missouri. While he was in boot camp in Kansas. We moved to Washington, D.C. when he was deployed to Japan in 1944, to stay with her sister, her husband was also sent overseas. They stayed there until Frank came back. They moved to La Mesa, CA. In 1946, to help his dad who had severe arthritis. Roy Conley Burr was a great artist and belonged to La Mesa Art Society. After her daughters were both married in 1953 and Frank's dad passed away, they moved to an El Cajon apartment. After selling his father's property, they moved to Alpine and bought a house. Later they moved to El Centro temporarily, then returned to Alpine. In 2002, they sold the house and moved to a moved to a mobile home park in Lakeside. After Frank passed away in 2003, Roy Conley lived there until November 17, 2010. She had her 96th birthday on November 11, 2010. Both of them were very supportive to their church, helping in Gideons, jail ministry, Salvation Army, and many more voluntary tasks. She had two daughters, ten grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. They had many friends. We will all miss her and always love and remember Roy Conley Burr. Memorial service December fifth at 3:00 p.m. will be at Lutheran Church, 1430 Melody Lane, El Cajon Easthills Christian Church has services at Lutheran Church.
