SEVERA GARIBAY Obituary

GARIBAY, SEVERA RAMOS Severa Ramos Garibay, 105, died peacefully in her home early Friday, January 14, 2011. Severa was born January 6, 1906, in Chihuahua, Mexico. She immigrated to El Paso, TX, as an infant, then moved to San Diego, CA in 1919. At 17, she worked at the Spanish Mexican Café where she was introduced to her husband, Enrique Garibay. Severa loved tending her roses and fruit trees. However, the real joy in her life was always the babies in the family. Despite her hearing loss, she could always communicate with little ones. She was preceded in death by her husband Enrique Alvarez Garibay and her two sons Raymond and Ernie Garibay. Severa is survived by her five daughters, Ruth LaMadrid, Henrietta Murrillo, Guadalupe Alvarez, Rosie Lieras, and Nancy Alvarez plus four more generations of grandchildren totaling 356. God go with you Grandma. The Rosary and viewing will be held Thursday, January 27th, 4 to 8 p.m. at Conrad Mortuary, 7387 Broadway, Lemon Grove, CA 91945. The funeral mass will be 10 a.m. at St. Rita's Catholic Church, 5124 Churchward St., San Diego, CA 92114.

We all have so many special memories of Grandma. Here is a picture of one. I wish we had a picture of the time Rick & Louito were playing cards with us. We had so much fun! May Grandma's legacy of love, prayer, and forgiveness for each other live on in us.
