PETERSBURG, IL - Anna Montgomery, 88, of Petersburg, passed away at 5:15 p.m. on Feb. 10, 2015, at Sunny Acres Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 4, 1926, in Loami, Ill., the daughter of John and Anna Robinson Taylor. She married Joseph Montgomery on Aug. 15, 1949, in Petersburg.
Anna is survived by her husband, Joseph of Petersburg; son, Larry (Debbie) Montgomery of Greenview; daughter, Joyce (Dick) Scroggins of Billings, Mont.; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Anna worked as a deputy for the Menard County Sheriff's office for 43 years, retiring in 1990.
A graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery at 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, with Pastor John Vidakovich officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Alzheimer's Association or Sunny Acres Nursing Home.

Ann was not only a great wife and mother, she was an inspiration to the Menard County Sheriff's Office for her many years of faithful Public Service. Every one who worked with her knows she was "a good and faithful servant." Her efforts blessed us all.

my heart goes out to Annie's family. She has had a long struggle and is finally at peace. She was a wonderful person as I knew her from the Sher iff's office. My prayers are with your family.
