Arlene Hammitt
SPRINGFIELD - Doris Arlene Hammitt, 87, of Springfield, died at 10:38 pm, Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Regency Nursing Care Residence. She was born April 11, 1925 in Fairbury, Illinois to Irving and Illa Smith Robinson. She married Joseph D. Hammitt on August 29, 1958 and he preceded her in death on December 24, 2004.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Doris was a member of First Congregational Church. She was a secretary for CIPS for 32 years, retiring in 1983.
Graveside Service: 10 am, Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Oak Ridge Cemetery Chapel with Reverend Dan Dexter officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Church or to the American Cancer Society.
