Robert
William Holman
SPRINGFIELD - Robert William Holman, 84, of Springfield, died on January 1, 2013 at 7:00 a.m. at St. Johns Hospital. He was born July 21, 1928 in Springfield to Julia Shipp.
Robert served in the army during WWII. He married JoAnne Webbing who preceded him in death on March 19, 1973. He worked as a Janitorial Supervisor for the State of Illinois for 26 years and for Fiat Allis as a Machinist for 34 years before he retired. He was a member of the American Legion Post 809.
Preceding him in death: his wife, JoAnne Holman, two sons, Bobby and Darrell.
He leaves to cherish his memory; two sons, William Holman (wife, Tris) from Chicago and Orrin Holman (wife, Shandra) of Springfield: three daughters, MaryAnn Turner (husband, Lamar) and Melody Holman, both from Minneapolis, MN, Celinda Hearn of Springfield: fourteen grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren: host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be on January 7, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at Abundant Faith Christian Center on Taylor with the service to follow 11:30 a.m., the Minister, Yvonne Drake will be officiating. Burial will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery, last rights will be performed by The Army and the Sangamon County Burial Detail.
