Annie L. Pulliam 1947 - 2017
Springfield, IL—Springfield, IL- Annie L. Pulliam, 69, of Springfield, passed away at 6:49 pm Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at St. John's Hospital.
Annie was born in Tchula, MS, December 11, 1947 the daughter of Eugene and Julie (Grant) Harris. She married Ben Pulliam Sr. in Springfield, IL, October 11, 1965 and he survives.
She also leaves to cherish her memory her children: Jerald Harris and Latanya Mitchell both of Springfield, IL, Ben (Dorba) Pulliam Jr. of Vicksburg, MS, and Michael Pulliam, of Springfield, IL. She has 18 grandchildren, two special ones, Marcus (Sandra) Laster and LaDrica Harris, several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, as well as three God children: Earnest McCool, Sundree Lathom, and Michelle Bozarth. She is also survived by her siblings: Mary Harris, Rosie Harris, R.T. Harris, all of Chicago, IL, J.D. Harris of Iowa, Manuel Harris, Christine Harris, Will Harris all of Chicago, IL and JoAnn Hill of Coppell, TX, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Eugene Harris Jr., and Melvin Harris, as well as a sister, Patricia Harris.
Annie retired from St. John's Hospital after 35 years of service as a nurse technician. She then continued in the medical field as a medical clerk at the Capital Community Health Center. She loved gathering as a family, especially the Thanksgiving and 4th of July holidays. She was well known for her signature dish of green bean casserole. Earlier in her life, she was an avid bowler but more recently, enjoyed going to the river boat to play slot machines. Annie was baptized into the Baptist faith.
Cremation Rites will be accorded by the Bisch Crematory prior to ceremonies.
A memorial ceremony and time of sharing memories will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, June 26, 2017, at Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen, Springfield, IL. Rev. Murrine Hamilton will officiate.

Ben and family there are no words that can even begin to say how sorry i am for the loss of such a wonderful and extraordinary person Miss Annie was.Each and everone one of our hearts will ache for her.
