PAMELA VERGES Obituary

Pamela Sue West (Verges) of Mount Vernon, Washington, gracefully departed our world on April 4, 2011, to join her Father, Darrel Edward West in the Kingdom of our Lord.

Pamela is the third daughter of four, born on August 15, 1964, at 3:01pm in Eureka, California to Darrel & Karen Sue West.

Pamela and her sisters grew up in scenic Grants Pass, Oregon. Pamela was beautiful and had sweet disposition. She excelled in her career as a savvy business woman and achieved notable success.

Pamela worked hard and she played hard. Pamela loved to travel and the one place she returned to time after time was Hawaii.
She was a professional scuba diver and avid golfer. She enjoyed culture and fine food. Pam never missed the opportunity to create an event to invite friends and family. Themes like Mystery Dinners, Lobstermania, Birthdays and backyard bar-b-ques; Pamela did them all. She was loving, fun, humorous, devoted, smart and beautiful.

She created a wonderful life for herself and was only 46 years old when she gracefully surrendered to breast cancer which she bravely battled for 18 months. Pamela never once complained and she stepped up to the challenge with determination and did what she always did. She prepared herself and did her best. Pamela's best is our "wow" Pamela truly was amazing.

She had no children of her own but was an incredible aunt.

She is survived by her Mother, Karen Sue Sherle and Step-Father Wayne Sherle of Clarkston, Washington; her three sisters, Shelley West of Corvallis, Oregon, Kelley West of Mount Vernon, Washington, Cheryl West of Selma, California; her nephews, Dustin West of Anchorage, Alaska, Jaron West of Corvallis, Oregon, Olympia West-McCoy of Seattle, Washington and her great nephews, her close friends Nancy Hansen and Dick Jones, her puppy Mia and her many friends.

Viewing will be held Friday, April 15, 2011 10:00 am until the Funeral Service at 2:00pm at Hawthorne Funeral Home 1825 E. College Way, Mount Vernon.

Arrangements are under the care of Hawthorne Funeral Home, Mount Vernon.

Wow! It’s so crazy that you’ve been gone for ten years! I’m almost the same age as you were. You were so special to me! ❤

April 15, 2011

I first met Pam over twenty years ago when I went to work for her sister Shelley. I eventually met all the West girls, each one as pretty as a picture. I had not seen Pam in several years, but heard about her from time to time. Was deeply saddened to hear of her passing. My sympathies to the entire family, most especially to Shelley who was a great boss and a sweet friend. The sky will be a little brighter from now on as the star that is Pam will be shining down on all who knew her. God Bless you Pam, I will never forget your sweet soul.

Shelley,
It was so heart wrenching to read about Pam and her illness, and your loss of a beautiful sister. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Sweet Pammie, We missed you guys so much when you moved to Clarkston, I thought we would get those good times back when you moved home...I guess it wasn't meant to be. I have some wonderful memories of what an amazing person you are. We had some really good times, good walks, and good talks. You and Rick were good people, and good friends. From the first day I met you I knew we were meant to find each other, you will always be my angel.

Love you always, Carolyn & Ed

Nancy: You were a great mother and friend to Pam. I'm so sorry for your loss. Pam: I only got to meet you a few times. They were fun and special. I will buy the drinks at the "swim bar" Jan Ongaro wrote about. Bell you all.

My heart breaks Pam was my Aunt and she was a beautiful person. She always went above and beyond for me. As she did for everyone around her. She always did her best to encourage you to go for your goals. When she got sick I wanted to go visit her, but I couldn't as I'm pregnant and high risk I'm not able to travel. I will never forget the fun times we had together she always made me laugh. I went to Hawaii with her and my uncle Rick six years ago.I will miss her very much!
