I was able to meet Russ and Alice later in life when my mother, Dorothy Pakledinaz, and her sister, June Wightman, finally re-met their half-brother for the first time since a meeting in Chicago in the 1940's. It was wonderful and beautiful, and they all shared memories and photos of their father, who was as handsome as his son. I was able to see Russell and Alice several more times, and his love for his beautiful wife, their beautiful home, his great cars and that miniature cannon he loved to fire, these are all great memories.

It was with great honor that I was given the opportunity to help with Russ' care at his home. The love and tenderness he showed to Alice reminded me again of what true love really is. My Thoughts and Prayers are with all of you. Hold the memories close to your hearts to carry you through these rough times.

It's hard to find the words to express how much my Grandpa meant to me. I have so many memories of him beginning with my annual visits to Mount Vernon when I was six years old. Even after becoming an adult, I made it a priority to visit my grandparents every year regardless of where I was then living (New York City or Nova Scotia). My grandparents have always inspired me with their love of each other and the value they placed on family. Grandpa had a wicked sense of humor and he was passionate about the things he loved (Alice, history, cars, guns) and I think he passed both of those traits along to me. It's hard to imagine a world without Grandpa in it. But he will continue to inspire me through wonderful memories. I love you Grandpa. ~Stacy
