FEARBIA MOORE PARKER Obituary

Fearbia Octavia Kathleen Moore Parker, 90, a longtime Skagit County resident passed away peacefully Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Burton Care Center in Burlington.

Fearbia was born in Jackson County, North Carolina on February 2, 1921 to the late James Claude and Dorothy (Beasley) Moore. Fearbia was raised and attended school in North Carolina.

On October 28, 1945 she married Frank Eugene Parker in Sylva, North Carolina. They moved to Washington in the fall of 1948 and settled in Punkin Center, Hamilton.

Together they ran a mill and a small farm where they raised cattle and produce with their five children. In 1969, she and Frank moved to Van Zandt, Washington. Fearbia enjoyed spending her time gardening and raising cattle and a variety of birds, but spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was what she loved the most.

In 1978, she and Frank moved to Ferndale where they lived until moving back to Sedro-Woolley in 1999 to be closer to their family. They remained there until moving to Burton Care Center together.

Fearbia was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Parker; parents, James Claude and Dorothy; three brothers, Everett, Paul and Henry; four sisters, Elizabeth, Martha, Minnie and Lillie; two daughters-in-law, Marie and Candy; and one grandson, Jeffrey Lee Parker.

She is survived by a brother, Joe Moore of North Carolina; her daughter, Frankie Jean (Tom) Bigelow, and her four sons, Clark (Gail) Parker, Ron (Gale) Parker, John (Ann) Parker, and Wayne (Sherri) Parker; 14 grandchildren, Christine, Teresa, David, Tricia, Joel, Steve, Laura, Wes, Brian, Ashlie, Jeremy, Shelby, Mike and Nick; 17 great-grandchildren, Katlyn, Jessica, Alicia, Jeffrey, Cassie, Kirsten, Samantha, Jorgen, Allie, Callie, Parker, Jaydon, London, Bella, Katelyn, Andrew and Ethan and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Lemley Chapel in Sedro-Woolley with Pastor Edd Denton officiating. Interment will follow at the Hamilton Cemetery.

Summers and weekends were spent with you making memories that I will keep and treasure forever. I feel blessed that my own children were lucky enough to share a close relationship with you, too. You taught us all to love and care for each other and gave us all our love of family. You showed us how to be strong but gentle, strict but kind, and respectful but still a little silly...sometimes a LOT silly :) I hope I have done a good job teaching my kids the same and hopefully I can be half the grandma you were.
Love you forever Mamaw...I know you'll be watching over all of us until we can be together again. P.S. give Jeff and Grandpa each a big hug from me. <3
