ELENE GALBREATH Obituary

Elene M. Galbreath, age 84, a resident of Mount Vernon, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at a local care facility. She was born on July 6, 1926 in Langlois, Oregon, the daughter of Roy and Vivian (McMillan) Haft.

Elene was raised in Port Orford, Oregon before moving at the age of 17 to Burlington, WA.

On September 8, 1943 she married Delbert Webster Galbreath in Curry County Oregon. Del and Elene moved to West Mount Vernon where they raised their family.

Elene was a homemaker which gave her the opportunity to take care of her family. After her youngest child Patsy was born she was stricken with Polio.

She enjoyed her sewing club and working in their garden with her husband Del. Together they raised a beautiful Dahlia garden. Elene also worked for 15 years at the Potatoes Unlimited Warehouse.

Elene loved her family and most of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three daughters, Connie Anderson and her husband Ken, Mary McMoran and her husband Don and Patsy Galbreath all of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Karen Agen and her husband Dan of Mount Vernon, Sally Johnson and her husband Gordon of Clearlake and Don McMoran and his wife Ami of Burlington; and six great-grandchildren.

Elene was preceded in death by her husband Del and grandchild, Darold McMoran.

Memorials may be given the McLean Road Fire Department, 15452 Beavermarsh Road, Mt. Vernon, WA 98273.

Dear Connie, Mary, & Pat, We are so sorry for the loss of your Mom. She was such a special person.....you could see it in her smile. I know Mom feels like she lost a sister. She will always be in our memories.

What a wonderful woman, your precious mother, and a classy lady too. She was always so kind and loving to us, not only beautiful (love that smile) on the outside but inside as well, and it showed, truly a blessing to others. We will remember her always.

Connie, Mary,and Pat,
We are so very sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a very special lady.
Dad still remembers her pies that were so delicious. I remember as far back as when we were all kids. I lived on the farm and you were on Best Road then. Then I lived next door to Elene and Del for a number of years. Our Dad's were best friends forever. Dad is living in Idaho with me and is 90 now so he won't be able to attend the services but he and I wish to convey our sympathy to all you girls and your families.
