LAVERNE KRUZICH Obituary

Laverne B. Kruzich, age 86, a resident of Burlington passed away Friday, May 27, 2011 surrounded with her family. She was born in Butte, Montana on May 24, 1925, the daughter of Victor and Eva Picard.

Laverne was a nurse at St. James and Community hospital until she and her husband moved to Washington in 1966.

She loved life itself, being part of the Bonney Lake Senior center sending everyone cards and encouraging their participation in being involved. She was named Senior of the year for two years in a row. Most of all she loved family get togethers and enjoying her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

After moving to Burlington she continued with her cards to everyone, she loved to be social, card playing, Bunco and having lunch with her friends at Woodgate.

Laverne was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

She is survived by her three children, a daughter Carol "Cookie" and (Hal) Pennington, of Burlington; with granddaughter Lori Lyn Larson; a son Tony, (deceased daughter-in-law Charlene) Kruzich of Garrison, Montana; with granddaughter Robin Willse, and grandson Todd Kruzich; and a daughter Vickie (Craig) Hill of Puyallup, with grandson, Joe Hill, Tim Hill, and granddaughter Tisha Hays; and 13 great-grandchildren. Also a special thanks to a "special" friend John Kelly.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11:15am at the Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. Following the graveside service, Laverne's family invites friends and relatives to join them for a time of refreshments and sharing at 2:00pm at Sliver Creek Club House, 18628 Ave. East, Puyallup, WA 98375.

There will also be a celebration of her life on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 3:00pm at the Thousand Trails in Bow, Washington.

I will miss her and her hugs, the smiles, and good word for all. Her giving and friend ship will be missed but she is now in peace. I love you Laverne.

CooKie be brave she is now in a place where she can still help others as much as she wants and be free of pain. She will be watching over us all.

Cookie and Family, In meeting you and your mom that day at the hospital was a suprise, but she was such a sweet, loving and caring person. She served her country well and is a dear lady. She will be missed but never forgotten.
