ESTHER HAMMOND Obituary
She was born July 13, 1913, on Lopez Island, a daughter of Charles Lee and Dorothy Burt Lee.
She was baptized at the Center Congregational Church on Lopez Island, and attended the Center Scho
ol there.
Her marriage to Harrold Hammond took place September 19, 1933, on Lopez Island.
In 1946 she moved to Burlington.
Her hobbies included making stuffed animals for hospitalized children, and crocheting for the Untied General Hospital Gift Nook.
Surviving are one daughter, Lola Hartley of New Mexico; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Carlyn Hammond of Birdsview; grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; three sisters, Betty Goodrow, Marie Crowley, and Grace Smith.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Burlington Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hulbush Funeral Home, Burlington.
Remembrances are suggested to North Puget Oncology-Cancer Care Centers, 1971 Highway 20, Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284.

Your mom was a wonderful, generous and trusted friend and neighbor to me and my parents. She and your dad were always 'right there' whenever help was needed on the farm. As a young girl, I was fascinated by all of the crafty she could do and create. Of course, she patiently shared her talents with a small band of noisy neighbor girls in the 4-H club she led with my mom. Thanks to you, Mickey and Donnie, for sharing your mom and your dad with me.
