JERRY GEORGE Obituary
After graduating from high school, Jerry joined the Women's Army Corps. During her enlistment of 26 months, she served one year of that time in Paris, France. While in Paris, Jerry met her future husband, Jerry T. George, and they married on June 7, 1946 in Shelby, Montana.
Jerry, her husband, was employed with Texaco in Sunburst, MT, where they lived and also where, three children joined the family. In 1958, the family moved to Anacortes at the beginning of the Texaco refinery start up. Jerry worked at Sunset Floral and also for 13 years at J.C. Penney.
After retirement, they traveled a lot to Eastern Oregon for fishing and hunting, and made several trips to Hawaii. She was a member of the Anacortes Lutheran Church.
Jerry was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jerry, and her daughter, Robin.
She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Lance and Becky George of Sedro-Woolley, WA and Dana and Susie George of Anacortes, WA; grandsons and spouses, Brandon, Justin, Brian and Laura, Ryan, Jeremy, Corey and Jillian; and great-grandchildren, Gavon, Ethan, Tru and Michael. Jerry is also survived by her sister, Agatha Wood of Hope, AR and sister-in-law Helen Eliason of Sedro-Woolley, WA; and many dear nieces; nephews; and friends.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Northwest for the support and care of our Mom and our family.
A graveside committal service will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Fernhill Cemetery in Anacortes, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at the Anacortes Lutheran Church.
Memorials may be made in Jerry's name to the Shriners' Hospital for Crippled Children or Hospice of the Northwest.
Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., Anacortes, WA and the San Juan Islands.

Dear Dana and family,
I just read of your mom's passing. Since I moved to Virginia I have lost touch with alot of what goes on in Anacortes and didn't know you had also lost your dad. I just wanted you to know that your parents were very special to me. When i joined the Anacortes Lions Club your dad was my biggest supporter, always encouraging me. Having lost both of my parents i know in time it gets easier but its difficult until you get there. But know they are together in a good place
