I was so blessed to have known your Mother. I met her through the visits we had with Japanese exchange students that we hosted here in Burlington. Your family story of the interment camp and how she met your Father were shared by Grace to us and also she used to go to the Burlington Edison High School and share this part of our history that has been left out of the history books. What an incredible woman! She will be missed and I'm glad her knowledge and wisdom has been left to carry on here in the Skagit Valley. With love and sympathy...Donna Pfluger and family.

Dear Ron,Steve,and extended family members,
You have my deepest sympathy on the death of your mom. I know how important she was in your life and your care and support during these last few years must have brought her great comfort. I do believe that your closeness and warm memories will bring you comfort. Remembering the friendship she made with several of my exchange student and how she had embraced them with her friendship and love. Juri has many memories of her love and the Strwberries, Kayo always remember the sushi she had made for them . We in the valley have so many wonderful memories of her and your family.. My prayers are with you and your family during this time and the months to come..

I love Grace! I was exchange student in 1995 at Burlington Edison High. She welcomed me at her house with my Japanese exchange students and she cooked so much amazing Japanese meals for us. I have visited her many times even after I left Burlington. I had sleep over one day and I kept her up till 1 AM talking and chatting about life and listening to her amazing stories. She told me she usually go to bed around 8 PM. So I felt bad..
She was such an amazing person to be around! We laughed so much together! I can only remember her wonderful spirit and she will live forever in my heart and will keep encouraging me to be positive and cherish the life. Thank you Grace for everything. I am so sorry that I could not say good bye and could not say how much I love you. I love you so much!!!

Ron and Steve, I did not know your mother, but knowing you at Burlington-Edison High School in 1963 proves your mother was kind, loving and supportive.
Your are in my prayers as you continue to walk your journey your Mother started you on. In His Grace, God is blessing you now and always.

I remember your mom from when I was a little girl, my Grandmother, Grace Judy used to take me with her when she got her hair done... What a wonderful person she was. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of saddness. May the Lord hold you gently in his embrace and ease your grief. Marsha Judy Fruik, Oak Harbor, Wa.

I was greatly saddened to read of Grace's passing. I've known her for at least 57 years and always was graciously received and welcomed whenever I would just drop in for a chat and to catch up on the family doings and happenings. A cookie often came with the visit.

She was Tus's keeper and he confessed to me the depth of his love and respect for her during one of our trips to the interior of BC in the mid 50's when he was recruiting berry pickers. He stated that that their love just kept getting better and better as their time together increased. She was a VERY special and strong lady and we all have lost a wonderful guide to living.

With sympathy to her sons and family and to her extended family, too. I have never worked for finer people than they.
