THRESA BENJAMIN Obituary

Thresa Jane Benjamin born September 3, 1930 passed away May 30, 2011 after her valiant battle with cancer.

Born in Seattle, WA, Thresa graduated from the University of Washington School of Nursing in 1950.

She is survived by her husband, Max Benjamin; her sons, Murray and Bradley; and her daughter, Michele Benjamin Lesmeister; her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lila and Harry Smart, and her daughter, Ngaire Hoffman.

Thresa and Max moved to Guemes Island in July 1959, where they created a life rich in nature and artistic expression.

Thresa was devoted to her husband and family. Her brilliant, creative spirit brought artistry in her kitchen and extensive gardens, which are a crush of color and spirit much like Thresa herself. Much loved by family and friends, Thresa will be greatly missed for her gentle spirit and generous nature.

At Thresa's request, there will be no memorial service.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Rhododendron Species Foundation, PO Box 3798, Federal Way, WA 98063
