Dale Harry Jarman

Mr. Dale Harry Jarman of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away Sunday morning at the Ball Hospice House in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Mr. Jarman was born on March 22, 1942 in Riggsville, Michigan to Vernon C. and Helena M. (Wester) Jarman. He graduated from Pellston High School in 1961 and from Lake Superior State University in 1987. He served his country during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Navy in the submarine service from 1961 to 1981, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer ETC(SS). He was a life member of the National Rifle Association. He also machine-quilted approximately 1000 quilts that were donated to the Shriners Hospitals for children. He loved hunting and fishing with family and spending time with his grandchildren.
On October 30, 1987 he married Lola Kay Nykanen in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters and two sons: Heather Lynn Meeks (Christopher) of Butte, MT, Laurie Whitburn (Thomas) of Green Bay, WI, Lynn Pulfrey (Jeff) of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Jon Janz (Tammy) of Lake Muskego, WI, and Christopher Jarman (Hollie) of Lake Nebagamon, WI; 18 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren, sisters Violet Hall of Nacogdoches, TX, Joyce Parris of Rogers City, MI, Helen (Alton) Buck of Flowery Branch, GA, and Joanne Ostwald of Cheboygan, MI, sister-in-law Judy Jarman of Rossville GA, Brothers William (Ila) Jarman of Cheboygan, MI, Ed (Deniese) Jarman of Joliet, IL, Tom (Linda) Jarman of Sims, NC, and David (Theann) Jarman of Raleigh, NC, He was preceded in death by his parents and one son Derek Nykanen, sister Mable Williams, sister-in-law Marcia Jarman, brothers Don and Louis Jarman, brother-in-law Joe Hall, Al Parris, and Jerry Williams.
Visitation will be held at the C. S. Mulder Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. with funeral services starting at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ball Hospice House of Sault Ste. Marie, MI.
