Laurine Kelly Obituary

On November 7, 2018 Laurine Kelly peacefully passed away at the age of 71 with her family and friends lovingly by her side.
To all who knew her, Laurine was a good friend and always excited to spend quality time together hosting a dinner gathering. Residing in the Sault for over 40 years, she graduated with a bachelor's degree in Individualized Studies from Lake Superior State University. She continued her career fulfilling many different roles at the university until retirement.
While her list of duties and successes are vast, her greatest accomplishment was as dedicated mother to Kimberly and Shawn. For those who knew Laurine, they knew her peace. She enjoyed connecting with nature and spending time outdoors breathing in the fresh air through various activities like snow shoeing, walking, birdwatching and cross-country skiing. She dedicated time to her church, prayer groups, and choir. She kept a healthy life balance with her yoga practice, dancing and cooking. Many hours were given through her charitable work at the Hospice House, which also became her final resting place.
She was a lover of animals and spent her days with her best pals Ruba and Ubu. She was a joy to her friends and a blessing to her family and proved that life should be lived fully.
Laurine is survived by son, Shawn (Karen Dinter) Kelly; daughter, Kimberly (Rich) Dale; sister, Janet (Donald) Winarski; three grandchildren: Clarissa Kelly, Shawn Kelly and Alexa Dale; and one great-grandchild Zoey Kelly. She is also survived by many cousins, aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews and countless friends.
She is predeceased by her parents Sophie and Joseph Rosiek.
Visitation will be held from 3-5:30 p.m. on Sunday November 11, 2018 at Clark Bailey Newhouse Funeral Home, with a rosary service to be held at 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, November 12, 2018 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Michael Chenier as Celebrant and Deacon Bill Piche assisting. Final resting place will be in Oaklawn Chapel Gardens. Memorials in her memory may be made to EUP Hospice.

I am both shocked and saddened to see of your death my friend. We go back many years from when we first met at St. Joseph's Church when our kids were little. You were an angel in life and an angel with God now. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to your family. RIP Laurine until we meet again.

She was an important part of my RHOADES family and shared love and caring with us all. She was my seester. In my best dreams, Mike welcomed her alongside Ruba, Ubu, Busha, and her parents. Of course, Laurine would be making soup or something for them all.
