Linda Waite Obituary
WALKERTON - Linda S. Waite, 61, passed away at 9:16 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7th, in Memorial Hospital. Linda was born May 15, 1947, in Beech Grove, IN, to the late John L. and Fidalis (Billman) Barnes. On December 23, 1978, in Beach Grove, as Linda Farris, she married Ken Waite. He survives along with daughter, Jacqueline (Craig) Myers of St. Peters, MO; stepdaughter, Sheryl (Jerry) Steiner of Onondaga, MI; son, David Farris of Beech Grove; stepsons, Mark (Kathy) Waite of Suwanee, GA, and Tim (Karen) Waite of Lansing, MI; grandchildren, Nicolas and Haley; step-grandchildren, Jenna, Krista, Chelsea, Carter and Cooper; sister, Martha (Dave) Driscoll of Indianapolis; and brothers, Jerry (Joyce) Barnes of River Falls, WI, Mike (Betty) Barnes of Punta Gorda, FL, and Dan (Marty) Barnes of Lamy, NM. Linda enjoyed gardening, flowers and hummingbirds, and loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 9th, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road, South Bend. Visitation will also be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 10th, in Little and Sons Funeral Home, 1301 Main St., Beech Grove, IN 46107, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 11th, in the Little and Son Funeral Home. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, 435 W. Troy Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46225. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718. For those who are unable to attend the funeral liturgy, condolences for the family may be sent to www.sjfh.net.

I feel so blessed to have had Linda as one of my friends. Rarely in life do you meet someone you immediately click with but that is what happened with Linda and me. I always looked forward to our lunch dates where we would both bring stacks of pictures of our grandchildren, our visits and chats on the phone. You are all in my prayers. She was a great person and a great friend.

I met Linda at Automobile Auction in Indianapolis when we was very young .Linda's mother and other members of family worked there also . I accompanied my father for years on Thursday's to Auction and talked with Linda . We have remained in touch for past 45 years .Looking forward to phone calls at least monthly from each other and letters to keep in touch on changing in our lives . Looked so forward to hear from her about children , Grandchildren and of course
her gradening and what Ken was doing and what they was doing with their new home. A great loss for me and my dear friend who always had such thoughtful words and encouragement for all the past years .. Ken I will keep in touch and I know Linda will be with you always and with me also in my heart and thoughts .
I 'm so greatful to have her as my dear friend . My heart goes out to everyone in her family we have had a beautiful lady who has came into our lives and shared with us all.
