ELKHART - On the afternoon of Monday, June 26, 2017, Rosie L. Williams - Mathis was taken from our midst at 4:47 p.m., in Elkhart General Hospital, Elkhart, Indiana at the age of 70.
Rosie's life began in Rosedale, Mississippi on December 25, 1946 when she was born to George and Rosie Mae (Hill) Williams. Coming from Rosedale, she relocated to Elkhart in 1955. She was employed for 15 years at Mosiac, retiring in 2012 as a Direct Support Specialist. Rosie was a member of Greater Holy Temple Church of God in Christ where she formerly served as Sunday School secretary. Her hobbies included crafts and decorations.
Loving family members who survive include one daughter, Crystal Obrie; four sons, Savane E. Williams, Armetris Williams Sr., Arvester Williams, and Lendrick Williams; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Josephine Salls and Leenetric (Michael) Brown; two brothers, Willie Frank Williams and Don “DeWayne” (Anita) Williams Sr., all of Elkhart, Indiana.
Funeral services for Ms. Rosie L. Mathis will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Greater Holy Temple Church of God in Christ, 710 Napoleon Street, South Bend, Indiana with Pastor Lee Ross, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Street Cemetery, Elkhart. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Rosie my friend, the news of your passing came to me as a shock. I take solace in the words of God that your appointment time to go home has come. We shall surely miss you but soon and very soon, there shall come a day we shall all meet at the feet of the Lord, where we shall all live forever.
