James Key Obituary
HATFIELD, Ky. — James Howard Key, 62 of Hatfield, Ky., passed away Mon., Feb. 24, 2014, at his home.
Born Aug. 30, 1951, in Charleston, he was a son of the late John William Sr. and Mary Jane Estep Key. He was also preceded in death by a son, James Howard Key II, and his mother and father-in-law, Helen Lusk Pennington and Charles Frenchie Lusk.
He was a retired office manager for Tug Valley Home Care and a member of the Williamson Church of God Kingdom of Ministries.
Survivors include his wife, Garnet Joyce Lusk Key; son, Charles William (Misty) Key of Hatfield; daughter-in-law, Anna Key of Matewan; brothers, John W. (Gilda) Key Jr. and Donald Ray (Sheree) Key, both of Beckley, and Samuel A. (Diane) Key of Princeton; sisters, Carletta Sue Harper and Damaris Lambert, both of East Bank, and Gloria (Roger) Frye of St. Albans; grandchildren, Destiny Key of Belfry, K., Daniel Marcum of Martin County, Ky., Austin Key and Haley Key, both of Hatfield, and James Cameron Key and Alex Collins, both of Matewan; great-granddaughter, Khloé Marcum of Martin County, and a host of other family and friends.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sat., March 1, at R.E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Earl Coleman and Pastor Dewey Lusk officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill with Randy Hensley, Chuckie Key, Daniel Marcum, Sam Key, Alex Collins, John W. Key Jr., Austin Key and James Cameron Key serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

I was sorry to hear about Howard's passing. He was a caring, friendly guy who never met a stranger. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. He was liked by many and he will be missed. Take comfort in the fact he is walking those streets of gold. I will be praying for you and your family.

Howard was such a kind hearted, loving, caring husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to so many who loved him dearly...he will truly be missed...We mourn his passing & we are keeping Garnet, Chuck, and his entire family in our prayers for strength, comfort peace & assurance to know that he is walking the streets of Heaven today....We all love you Howard.

Howard will be missed but he begins his journey with eternal life with Jesus , praying all the family receive comfort and peace knowing Howard is no longer sick and he is healthy in Heaven and he is in your future , I love you all especially Garnet and Destiny and Daniel , may God wrap his arms around you all .

Howard was such a loving and caring man. He loved his Lord and his family. He will be greatly missed. I cherish the memories I have of him. I worked with him for several years at Stat Medical Equipment. Praying for his family. Heaven gained a precious soul.
