JEROME DINGESS
CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mr. Jerome Dingess, 92, of Chapmanville, W.Va., died Wednesday, December 21, 2016, at Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan, W.Va.
Born August 22, 1924, at Chapmanville, he was a son of the late Peter and Buna Farmer Dingess.
Mr. Dingess loved being a Christian and was a member of Chapman Memorial Freewill Baptist Church. Mr. Dingess was a World War II Veteran and proud to have served in the United States Army where he landed on the beaches in Normandy during D-Day. He also was a member of the VFW, DAV, American Legion Post 103, Past-President of the UMWA 5758, former mayor of Chapmanville, and former Chapmanville City Council member.
He is survived by his wife, Veda; sons: Jerome Dingess Jr. of Hermitage, Tenn., and Keith Dingess, Adam (Kayla) Dingess, and Daniel (Amber Justice) Dingess, all of Chapmanville; grandchildren: Keith J. Dingess, Klaudia Dingess, Jason Dingess, and Nathan Dingess; seven great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 28, at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville with Joe Triplett and Buddy Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Steele Cemetery at West Fork of Chapmanville.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, the funeral home.
Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.

So sorry to read of Jerome's passing as knew him during my younger days in Chapmanville. My family sends it's condolences and wishing peace for the family. He will surely be missed by his family. Thanks for the memories.
