Peter J. Jannace

Peter J. Jannace, age 83, of Brockton died Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Karen E. (West) Jannace for 43 years. Peter was born and raised in Rumford, Maine, a son of the late Peter and Mary (DiPinto) Jannace and had been a resident of Brockton since 1965. During the Korean conflict, Peter served in the U.S. Army. He received his bachelor of education from Farmington State College and his master of education from Boston State College. Peter retired from the City of Brockton School Department in 1998 after a 35 year career as a teacher and adjustment counselor. In his free time, Peter liked to dabble in the stock market but treasured most, time spent with his family. Peter is survived by a daughter, Anne-Marie Brown and her husband Peter of Falmouth, Maine; and a son, Matthew Jannace and his wife Jessica of Bedford; four grandchildren, Elizabeth and Zachary Brown, Rebecca and Mikayla Jannace; his siblings, Marion Arsenault and Francis Jannace both of Rumford, Maine, Pauline Lavorgna of Peru, Maine, Joan Anderson of Cherry Valley, Ill., and the late David Jannace. Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St. (Rte.123), Brockton, on Saturday, June 2, 2018, from 2-5 p.m., followed by a service at 5 p.m. Burial at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
