Patrick Avitabile Obituary

Patrick J. Avitabile, age 32, of Taunton, died unexpectedly Aug. 18, 2015. After a successful year of recovery, he lost his battle to the disease of addiction. Patrick was the loving son of Ann Ahearn Avitabile of Middleboro and the late Louis N. Avitabile Jr. Patrick was raised in Middleboro and was a 2001 graduate of Coyle Cassidy High School in Taunton. Patrick was proud to have been a member of the Laborers Union Local 668 in Manchester, N.H. Patrick enjoyed riding street bikes and motorcycles. Special time together was spent with his fiancee Jennifer going to the movies, one of his favorite things to do. He enjoyed traveling, but most importantly he loved spending time with his son Tyler and taking him to the park. Patrick will be remembered as a kind, loving and gentle man with a great sense of humor. He loved his mother and would often say Anything if it makes Mamma happy. Patrick leaves his loving fiancée Jennifer Rose and their son Tyler Edward Avitabile of Taunton. Patrick was the brother of Kevin Avitabile whom he loved and admired and his wife Jenna of East Bridgewater and the late James Avitabile. He was the grandson of Pearl Ahearn of Bridgewater, Louis Avitabile Sr. of Hanover and the late James Ahearn and Mary (Sullivan) Avitabile. He also leaves a nephew, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was the godson of Patricia Ahearn Burnett and Paul Avitabile. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of Lourdes Church 433 West Street, Brockton on Tuesday at 11 a.m. There will be a receiving line at the back of the church at 10:15 a.m. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Patricks name to the Tyler E. To all off Pat's friends and family, I am truly sorry for your loss. I read about his passing in the paper today and was shocked. I worked with Louie for a time a few years back and met Patrick four or five years ago. Over the years I had a few nice conversations with Pat. If anyone could have beat this, I thought it would have been him. He had a lot of great, supportive people around him. Peace.

Kevin I's so sorry for your loss, my heart and prayers go out to you and your family. I also hope and pray that this tragedy can help awaken the public to this awful disease and the terrible cost it reaps on families.

To All of Patrick's loved ones, I accidentally stumbled upon the news article of the heartbreaking news and immediately rechecked the date; hoping and praying that I was reading an article from a few years back. Our family met Kevin at school where he shared with us how he had lost James. We are so very sorry for your loss. Ann, I applaud you for making your tragedy as public as possible in hopes of saving the lives of others. You and your family will remain in our hearts and prayers. God bless you all.

Mom, we both lived in Bridgewater but it took the FED UP Rally in D.C. for us to meet. I carried a poster with a picture of James. You were so brave. We'll march again with James and Patrick by our side. I pray for your peace and an end to this epidemic.
