Mary Shutt Obituary

Mary Lou Shutt MARSHFIELD Mary Lou Shutt, of Marshfield, died suddenly Jan. 24, at the age of 78. Daughter of the late John W. Sr. and Marion (Husband) Shutt, Mary Lou was born in Braintree and graduated from Braintree High School, Class of 1949. She was a retired administrative assistant for the S.D. Warren Paper Co in Boston. Mary Lou was the recording secretary for the Marshfield Board of Health for the past 60 years. She was a member of TOPS, the Aquacise program at the Percy Walker Pool in Duxbury and was a performer and actress at the senior centers in Marshfield and Duxbury. She was a dear sister of John W. Shutt Jr. and his wife Mildred of Marshfield and the late Jean Joseph McCraith; aunt of Michael Shutt, John Jay Shutt, John McCraith and the late Steven Joseph and his wife Diane; great-aunt of Steven, Chris and Caitlin Joseph. Funeral from the MacDonald Funeral Home, 1755 Ocean St., Rte. 139, Marshfield, Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in St. Ann By the Sea Church, 591 Ocean St., Marshfield, at 10 a.m. Visiting hours Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in the Winslow Cemetery, Marshfield. John - I'm SO sad to find out about Mary Lou's passing! She was my Mom's best and dearest friend (Peggi [Mahar] Nichols); they're once again together. My sincerest sympathies to you and your family on your loss of a wonderful lady!
