I am very sorry to hear of Mr. Arick's passing. He was my patient on 5 heart at SRMC several times. He made such an impression on our floor. He would thank someone with his last breath for doing anything for him. There were times when I found him struggling so hard to breathe and when i chastised him for not calling out he would always say "I didn't want to bother you." He was always overly greatful and tried his best to always be kind.
I visited him a few times in the hospice house and he was delighted to meet my family. I will cherish those memories of spending time with him. It was nice to see him happy and smiling, just throwing a ball around with my little boy.
I hope you can take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. It was a pleasure and an honor to have taken care of Mr. Arick.
