Phyllis Thompson Obituary
ROEBUCK, SC- On February 20, 2018, Mrs. Phyllis Hayes Thompson passed into eternal rest after a brief illness. She is survived by her husband Mark, to whom she was married on June 6, 1969. She had three surviving children: Tanya, Michael, and Andrew. Andrew and his wife Susan are the parents of her four grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son: James Edmund, a brother: Keith Eugene, and her parents: Robert and Marguerite Hayes.
In 1965, Phyllis was a member of the first graduating class of Paul M. Dorman High School. She earned a Mathematics Degree from Winthrop College and spent her professional career as a math teacher in the State of Maryland, Anderson South Carolina, and Boiling Springs Junior High School.
Visitation will be 1:00-2:30 PM Friday, February 23, 2018, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307. A private graveside service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Spartanburg Soup Kitchen, 136 South Forest Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306.
