Shelby Smith Obituary

Shelby Tyler Smith, of Taylorsville, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle collision in the south-bound lane of Interstate 71 mile marker 60, in Greene County, Ohio.
He was visiting the parents of his girlfriend, Michaela Ray of Marietta, Ga., for the holidays.
He was born in Louisville, graduated from Spencer County High School and was a member of the FFA and other organizations at the time of graduation.
He was a third-year student at the Boyce Bible College in Louisville, employed by Arising Bay Assisted Living, and was a very active member of the Plum Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Annette and Keith King of Taylorsville; his father and step-mother, Brad and Kristen Smith of Taylorsville; sister, Helisha Smith of Taylorsville; brother, Hunter King of Taylorsville; step-sister, Kayleigh Eldridge of Taylorsville; step-brother, Tyler Eldridge of Taylorsville; grandparents, Bruce and Sharon Coulter of Mount Eden, Robert and Jeanie Smith of Taylorsville, Howard and Helen King of Taylorsville, Buster and Dollie Hart of Mount Washington, Hobson and Bernice Andrews of Scottsburg, Ind.; and great-grandmother, Myrtle King of Taylorsville.
Visitation: Wednesday, Jan. 2, from noon to 8 p.m. at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home and Thursday, Jan. 3, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Plum Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral: Thursday, Jan. 3, at 2 p.m. at Plum Creek Baptist Church with Bro. D.B. Wright, Bro. Chad Goodlett and Bro. Jon Rohr officiating. Interment: Valley Cemetery.
Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Shelby Tyler Smith Memorial Fund in care of Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home.
