Dorothy Talley Obituary

TALLEY,
Dorothy
(Zolman)
(Age 67)

On April 4, 2011 Dorothy A. Talley was called home by her Glorious Savior. After a seven year battle with breast cancer, she passed away with her daughters by her side in Spokane, WA. Dorothy was born on December 13, 1943 in Baldwin Park, California to William and Marie Price. In 1962 she married Donald A. Zolman and relocated to Spokane where they had two daughters. After Donald's death she remarried Glenn L. Zolman. After Glenn's death she married Kenneth P. Talley in 1982. They relocated to Oakesdale, WA in 1986 where Dorothy worked for Whitman County and they lived happily together for fifteen years. Kenneth preceded her in death in 1997. In 2003 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and retired from Whitman County. Dorothy was a member of Oakesdale First Baptist Church. She enjoyed annual trips with her high school girlfriends and spending time with her family. Dorothy is survived by her mother, Marie Price; sisters, Susan Price and Gloria Uzee; daughters, Darla Bedow and Deanne Perko; five stepchildren; six grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Dorothy's Life will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 2:00PM at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Road, Spokane Valley, WA. Donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation or to Oakesdale First Baptist Church, 209 W Bartlett Oakesdale, WA 99158 in honor of Dorothy A. Talley.

Dorothy, you were a great friend and sister in Christ. Thank you for the giggles in the back corner of the Auditor's office, and your quiet way of encouraging others. Thank you for the girls you brought into this world, and know that God is watching out for them and meeting their needs. We are praying for God's grace in their lives as they learn to live without you except in spirit. For you will always be there for your girls, and those who love you. God bless you all.

"I know the gates of heaven opened wide, the angels rejoiced, Jesus was there with his arms reaching out, he proclaimed "You are my good and faithful servant. You have run the good race. Because of your faith and acceptance of my forgiveness, you are welcomed into heaven." And her pain is now gone.

I rejoice in knowing that this fine upstanding servant of God lived her faith and if not for her I am not sure where I would be today. As a boy she and her husband Glenn took me under their wings and into their family. I was treated as though I were their son. It was there I felt the love and support of a mother and thus the reason she became Mom to me. Because of their service with the King Sons and Daughters programs I came to admit I was a sinner, I believe that Jesus is the only way to heaven, I openly confess that Jesus is the Son of God, the Holy Spirit dwells with in me and I am saved. I too will join her in heaven when I have completed the work that God has for me to do.

My heart is filled with love and I am at peace knowing Mom is pain free and with God. She lives on through her daughters. So rejoice that Jesus is risen indeed and therefor so is Dorothy Zolman Talley, Mom Z."
