Robert Goodnetter Obituary

GOODNETTER, Robert "Bob"
(Age 80)

Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 6, 2011.

Bob was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin. His birthday was June 23, 1930. He graduated from Washington Park High School, attended Belleville Area College and the University of Maryland. Bob worked two years at Yellowstone National Park before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force, where he served eight years (1951 -" 1959) in Korea and Germany. He then served two more years in the Reserve where he earned the rank of Captain. Bob had a combined 35 years of Military and Civilian Federal Service in the Telecommunication and Electronics Field, working primarily for the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Defense Communications Agency (DCA). He was a past President and Vice-President of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA). Bob lived and worked mainly in Belleville, IL and Colorado Springs, CO. After retiring in 1985, he moved to the Pacific Northwest and lived in Liberty, Lake, WA. He was a member of the VFW Post 1435 and Spokane Valley Eagles, Aerie 3433.

Bob is survived by his beloved lifetime partner of many wonderful years, Cassie Dodgen of Liberty Lake, WA and her family, Maxine Wells of Ford, WA, Michelle Kazuba of Spokane Valley and Melanie Wells of Seattle, WA.

Bob sadly leaves behind a son, Robert W. Goodnetter, a step-son, Todd Stone and three grandchildren, Jason, Christyl and Chad all from the Belleville area. Bob had two sisters, Rosemary Wiesner and Dawn Bauer, both of Racine. Dawn has preceded Bob in death. Bob was proud of all his nephews and nieces: Johnny, Jimmy and Jeff Wiesner, Jane Laurent, Julie Schwartz and Susie McFarland and all of his numerous grandnephews and grandnieces.

His favorite past times were wood-carving, walking, fishing, boating, trying to improve his golf game and most importantly, fulfilling his role of Grandfather (Step Pa) to Cassie's beautiful and beloved granddaughter, Michelle Kazuba.

HE WILL BE GREATLY MISSED.

Instead of flowers, please donate to Hospice of Spokane or Cancer Care Northwest in memory of Robert E. Goodnetter.

Goodbye grandpa, I shall always remember our outings when I was little, the go-kart races and the going to park, and all the little "grandpa" things I will sorely miss.Let the fish always be biting,Let there always be a Hole-in-One on the scorecard. And may you always be at peace.
