(Age 90)
Born February 3, 1920, in Spokane, to Harry S. Herbert and Alma S. Herbert (Wilson), Alice passed away January 7, 2011, at the Ponderosa Care Center in Spokane Valley. Alice grad- uated from Rogers High School and worked at Geiger Field during WWII as a parachute packer. After the war she did housekeeping.
Alice enjoyed embroidery, making pillow cases and tablecloths, and she loved her dogs and friends. She was a member of Liberty Park United Methodist Church, volunteered at Central Lutheran Senior Center, and spent much social time at East Central Senior Center. Alice is survived by her sister, Eva Mae Schultz; niece, Nancy L. Schultz; nephews, Mark Schultz and George (Marci) Hambly, all of Spokane; nephew, Fred (Dani) Schultz of Omak; numerous great nieces and nephews; and her furry friend, Tanner. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lee; and sister, Thelma.
A memorial service will be held January 20, 2011, at 2:00 PM, at Liberty Park UMC, 1526 E. 11th Ave, Spokane, WA 99202. Interment service will be held February 4, 2011, at 3:00 PM, at Riverside Memorial Park, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Park UMC.
We would like to give special thanks to Ponderosa Care Center, Larry and Connie Ross, and all the caregivers for their loving care of Alice.

I fondly remember Alice from Centenary United Methodist Church on Freya when I was stationed at Fairchild and lived on the South Hill. Alice was kind, funny, and caring. God bless Alice, I will never forget her and her ministry of kindness.
