Leona Reagan-Taskey Obituary

REAGAN-
TASKEY,
Leona
"Jeannie"
(Age 61)

Jeannie passed away in Spokane on April 10, 2011 from a life long struggle with blood disorders. Born in Spokane on May 25, 1949, she was raised and lived half of her life in the Seattle area where she loved being by the water and the abundance of green. The other half, Jeannie lived in Spokane where she had a large family. Following the death of her loving husband Del Taskey, Jeannie leaves behind her son Kip Erickson of Spokane; daughter GiAnn Eastman (Mike) of Kent, WA; four granddaughters Amber and Nikki Waldner of Mill Creek, WA; Hannah Nelson and Marryn Skye Eastman, both of Kent; two grandsons Samuel and Cameron Nelson both of Kent; and one great-granddaughter Alessa Waldner of Mill Creek. She also leaves behind her loving father Kenneth Reagan, brother Keith Reagan (Cheryl), and two sisters Wanda Danielson (Jim) and Nadine Gallagher (Bill), as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their children. Jeannie completed most of her schooling in Federal Way and North Central High School in Spokane. She also graduated from Kelsey-Baird Secretarial School and attended Spokane Falls Community College. Jeannie spent many years in the jewelry industry; however her first love was working in positions that had to do with education. She loved working with students and her favorite position was working for the SFCC College Grant Program. She also spent some time working as a blood tech and loved working with her patients. Jeannie enjoyed volunteering in many areas, one of her favorites being the Make a Wish Foundation. She was a startup board member for the Omega House, a member of the Chamber of Commerce and director of education for the Single Parent Program. She also was a Washington State Acorn Award Recipient and an honorary volunteer of the year for the Federal Way School District and East Wenatchee Schools. She was a Federal Way School Board Member and was awarded by the SFCC Head Start Program. Jeannie enjoyed her grandchildren more than anything else in her life. She called them the frosting on her cake. She loved her family and family gatherings. She had a great interest in anything that had to do with art, decorating and classical music. She had a big heart when it came to children. She spent more time with the kids than the adults. Visitation will be 10:00AM to 5:00 PM, Thursday, April 14th at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM, Friday, April 15th at Sunset Chapel inside Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley. Memorial contributions may be left at the service and will be distributed to her favorite organizations.

My late wife, Donna Lindsley, was a friend and co-worker of Jeannie's at J.C. Penny's. I remember the many times we visited with Jeannie at her home at Loon Lake. She was a wonderful woman and will be greatly missed.
