Lois Abegglen Obituary


ABEGGLEN, Lois

Lois passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011. She was born in Wilcox, WA and moved to Colfax in 1928. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1938 and attended Business School in Seattle. Lois married Hugh Abegglen in 1941. They moved to Pullman in 1953 where Lois assisted Hugh in managing the three local theatres. Lois also worked for several years for the City of Pullman. After retiring they moved to Spokane in 1993. Lois spent much of her free time making quilts for the Battered Women's Shelter and volunteering at the Southside Activities Center where she was Member of the Year in 2008. She was also a 50 year member of Eastern Star. Lois is survived by her three children: daughter Diane Berger of Spokane, daughter Linda Mulholland and husband Bruce of Chandler, AZ, and son Walter and wife Kristi of Yakima; also seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; as well as three sisters and one brother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh, her brother and one great-grandson. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, March 29th at Manito United Methodist Church at 10:00am. Memorial contributions may be made to YWCA (Domestic Violence Safe Shelter) or to Manito United Methodist Church.

Diane,
I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. She was always enjoying your time together when I would see you two around town.

I am sorry to hear about Lois. She was a wonderful volunteer at Southside Senior Activity when I worked there. She leaves a void.
