June "Cindy" Wigen

WIGEN, June G. "Cindy" June G. "Cindy" Wigen of LaCrosse, WA, was called home to our Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2009. A memorial service for Cindy is slated for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, at Selbu Lutheran Church near LaCrosse, Washington, with Pastor Bay officiating. Born June 21, 1923, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Florence (Wickman) Sindelar, also of Milwaukee. Graduated from the Riverside University High School and worked several jobs to purchase an automobile and embark on a road trip with a girlfriend--before "girl trips" were popular. They explored back roads and highways from Milwaukee south through California on their way to Pullman, WA, where she attended college. She married Howard Jennings Wigen, of LaCrosse, Washington, on October 19, 1946, and devoted herself to providing a loving and secure home for their four children at their farm. They were married for 57 years. Cindy was a contributing author to the locally published book "Rural Reflections." She found true joy in travel adventures, sharing stories and accomplishing many a project--especially the challenging ones! Cindy was preceded in death by her husband Howard in 2003 and is survived by her four children: Robin (Wigen) and Dave Hargreaves of Spokane, WA; Nick and Gail Wigen of West Linn, OR; Kirk and Cindy Wigen of LaCrosse, WA; and Kahti Wigen of Priest Lake, ID; five grandchildren Brooke Andrews, Jen (Wigen) and Tim Snell, Stefanie Wigen, Russ Wigen, Madeline Wigen; and two step grand children Gregor Hargreaves and Amy (Hargreaves) and Scott Evans; one great granddaughter Kaia Snell and two step great grandchildren, Chelsea and Haley Evans all of Spokane.
