Perry Ahlf Obituary

AHLF, Perry
(Age 67)

It's with our deepest sorrow to announce the unexpected passing of Perry on April 14, 2011. Perry was born December 28, 1943 to Bud (Eugene) and Eleanor Ahlf and was a graduate of Medical Lake High School, class of 1962. Perry was a lifetime resident of Medical Lake where he lived and worked the farm his family homesteaded with his brother Bill and father Bud, who preceded him in death. Perry also had a long career with the Great Northern and Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring in 2003. Perry was a truly amazing man, he loved the outdoors, hunting, four wheeling, snowmobiling and being with friends and family. But most of all he loved fishing, he never passed up the chance to fish and usually out fished everyone. He was one of a kind, if you knew him you were truly honored, he loved his family and friends deeply and in return he was loved and cherished by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife; Jane Ahlf at the home. Children; Vic Ahlf and his wife, Colleen. Lynn Alderman and her husband John and Michelle Sullivan and her husband John, Mother; Eleanor Ahlf. Sister; Donna Grub. Brother; Bill Ahlf. Grandchildren Justin, Charli, Sydney, Catie, Kris, Nick and Aimee. Four nieces and one nephew. Several cousins and his trusty o'l buddy, Ossie (his dog). We lost a great man there will forever be a void in our lives till we see him again. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church in Medical Lake in his memory. A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 23, at 1:00 p.m. at the Medical Lake High School Auditorium followed by burial at the Medical Lake Cemetery. Friends may sign the online guest book at Cheneyfuneral.com.

Perry was a hard working, family loving man who loved to farm, fish, build cars and look after everyone that passed through the Ahlf family doors. I know that Perry touched hundreds of lives in such a positive manner with his stories, words of wisdom and kindness. The world needs more people like Perry. He was just like his father and Grand Father, just a wonderful person. You will be missed by so many.

Perry,a great life-long friend, gave us some of the best memories of our life. He was the "go to guy" for problem solving. He did the work of many men--Railroader, Farmer, Rancher. To be friends with him and his family was a true treasure. To the Ahlf family, thanks for Perry, and to Perry, good fishing. Bob & Sandy
