Dear Bill, Ross, Joe and family,
I worked with Joanne in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Deaconess. She was an exceptional nurse, a sweet, loving, caring person. I wil always remember her laughter, how professional she was and how much she taught me. She touched many lives and nursed many children back to health. I am so so sad for your loss. I went to school with Joanne and in junior high she talked my brother and I into learning how to ski. The first time we went skiing with her we watched them bring her off the mountain on a stretcher because she had broken her leg. We did learn how to ski though, thanks to Joanne. I had some really great times with Joanne growing up. My thoughts and prayers are with you now.

Billy, I can't begin to say what I am feeling for you today. I read your message and am so sorry to hear of your loss. Given the years that have passed, my only memories are of a very young man and his beautiful new wife smiling and laughing with one another, very much in love. Thanks for that memory.

Bill and family,
Cindy, the family and I send our prayers. I wish that there was more that I could say. But, I realize that words only help to ease the pain, but they dont heal the sorrow.
I remember that Joanne offered any assistance when my oldest son was killed and I have never forgotten that. I would like to return the offer in her honor. If there is anything that we can do to help the family, please let us know.
May God bless you all in your hour of sadness.

As a SERE specialist, we leave our family often to teach others to live. Joanne was certainly a trooper, as Bill's stellar accomplishments couldn't have been made without her support. God bless the Welch household.
