Margaret LaRowe Obituary

LaROWE,
Margaret (Pride)
(Age 73)

Passed away on March 17, 2011 in Spokane, WA. She was born on December 3, 1937 in New York City to Frederick and Margaret Pride. Her formative years were spent in NYC, Washington D.C., and Bronxville, NY. She graduated from Bronxville High, Bradford Junior College, and with honors from Ohio State. Peggy worked for Iona College and Morgan Guaranty Trust in NYC where she met and married James Wickersham. Living in Connecticut they raised two children, Tilney and Peter, and stepson, Jay.
Aside from family Peggy enjoyed fox hunting, stewarding horse shows, Transatlantic sailboat racing, running a farm, and raising ponies. A divorce found her working as an accountant and horse show steward.
Peggy reacquainted with Pete LaRowe, a high school steady, and they were married in 1998. Alzheimer's led to her demise.
She is survived by two sisters, Patty Eaton of Tulsa, OK, Penny Devereaux of Williamstown, MA; daughter, Tilney Wickersham-Mestrich of Washington D.C.; son, Peter Wickersham of Seattle, WA; and six grandchildren, Nora, Franny and Charlotte Mestrich and Lucy, Jacob and Meg Wickersham.
A memorial service will be held at Rockwood Manor South at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 6, 2011. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Spokane's hospice or Alzheimer's Association.
