Dave Clark Obituary
CLARK, Dave
(Age 81)
Dave Harold Clark passed away on April 11, 2011, in Spokane shortly after his 81st birthday.
Dave was born at Nine Mile Falls on March 19, 1930, to Ernest and Stella Clark and is survived by his loving wife, Sally (Justice) Clark at the home. Surviving children are sons,
Kevin Clark, Ronald Clark, Randall Clark (Paul), all from Spokane; daughters, Linda (husband Keith) Embler of Deer Park, Lynette Juarez (Dale Daniels) of Spokane, Tamara Clark of Deer Park and Kim Martin of Spokane.
A son, Mark Clark, preceded him in death in July 2009 and a granddaughter, Jennifer Clark, in December 1974.
Dave has two surviving sisters, Doris Clark (husband Buck) of Prairie City, Ore., and Bonnie Lienweber (David) of Seattle.
Dave had 12 grandchildren, Chris Clark (wife Erin), Josh Beckley, Jeremy McCollough, Greg Clark, Brandon Clark, Jennifer Meeks, Derek Martin, Daren Martin, Daniel Martin, Amy Suitor (Roman), Ashley Clark and Jessica Clark and 22 great-grandchildren.
Dave was in the Marine Corps stationed at Camp Pendleton in California, where he endured a shoulder injury from which he was honorably discharged.
When he returned to Washington, he took a road trip to Montana with his girl, Sally Justice, and ended up getting married in Helena in October 1951, 59-plus blissfully happy years ago!
Upon their return, Dave briefly worked for Long Lake Lumber then went to work for the Deer Park Pines Mill as a sawyer. Dave was then employed as a truck driver at the Coeur d'Alene Steel Co. in Spokane Industrial Park until he retired in 1992 to be with his wife, Sally, on their farm near Deer Park.
Dave was quite a mechanic. He could fix anything, frequently depending on duct tape and bailing wire. He often couldn't have succeeded without them!
Dave loved farming, hunting, football (Go, Seahawks!), boxing in the ring and watching it on TV.
Dave was an experienced water-witcher, assisting many people in the area. He was always willing to help a neighbor or anyone that needed a helping hand.
Dave enjoyed having Scott Rash as a close neighbor. Scott was always there to assist Dave and was like a son to him. Dave's family wishes to thank Scott for everything he has done.
Dave enjoyed watching his sons wrestle in high school and attending his grandchildren's sports activities. One of the families most treasured memories is Dave teaching his children and grandchildren to drive the tractor on the farm with him when they were little. Dave loved spending time with his family, as they were all very special to him.
Dave was very proud of all his children and grandchildren. Seeing them follow their dreams made him very happy and put a smile on his face when talking about them. He was looking forward to visiting grandson Chris' Tire and Automotive shop but was unable to do so.
"Husband, Dad, Grandpa, you have touched so many lives and have taught us all so much. Believe us when we say we love you and know that you will be greatly missed. Thank you for all you have done for us and the community of Deer Park. It is a far better place because of you and Mom. All of this happened for "Us" because two people fell in love! You will forever be lovingly remembered in our hearts and minds." Sally Clark and family.
Funeral home visitation will be on Thursday and Friday, April 21 and 22, 2011 between 2-8 p.m. at Lauer Funeral Home in Deer Park.
