Doris Kahler Obituary


KAHLER, Doris V.
(Age 87)

Passed away January 16, 2011 at her home in La Crosse, WA. She was born in 1923 in Ritzville to Hans and Anna Kahler. They moved to Hooper in 1929. She attended grade school in Hooper, graduated from La Crosse High School in 1941 and attended Washington State College. She spent her 42 year working career in banking; retiring in 1993 as Bank Manager for Sea-First Bank in La Crosse, WA Doris was an avid bowler and spent 45 years bowling for various teams in Colfax, WA. Doris was preceded in death by her brother Ronald Kahler and her sister Esther Freeburg. She is survived by five nieces: Rhonda Mager, Diane Bippes , Nancy Kahler, all of Spokane, Katherine Swenson of Monroe and Elizabeth Jones of Yakima; three nephews: Scott Kahler and Thomas Kahler of Spokane and David Freeburg of Sunnyside. Doris will be dearly missed by all. Visitation will be Saturday January 22, 2011 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home with a Graveside service to follow at 2:00 PM at Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Ritzville. Memorial contributions are suggested to Emanuel Lutheran Church in Ritzville or Dollars for Scholars, PO Box 258, La Crosse, WA 99143. DANEKAS FUNERAL HOME-Ritzville is entrusted with arrangements.
