1957 Chev Belair. God Bless you, Doug.

Well, this news is particularly a shock since I had envisioned Doug Vail as being immortal. We attended the same schools and lived in the same neighborhood growing up and he gave all the girls a thrill every time they saw his handsome blond head smiling as he was driving his '57 Chev (midnight blue) Impala down Grand Blvd.. I don't ever recall seeing Doug without a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. I would have described him as definitely "cool". 1960's
I remember in high school when you sat at the entry way to the cafeteria at Ferris watching the girls come in for lunch to try and meet someone fresh and new that hadn't been "discovered" yet.
You'd asked a group of people at your table to help you look... And YOU DID find a girl that was unknown but after dating you, she became an instant celebrity!
Thank you Doug for being a part of my favorite childhood memories.
May you rest in peace and may God bless and keep You in the palm of His Hand.
