Joan (Mehulky) Colliton (age 77) born December 20, 1933 in Dickenson, ND; passed away March 16, 2011 in Issaquah, WA surrounded by family. Joan's true passions were her children and grand-children. She loved her longtime Spokane home, "her castle", and her garden. Joan touched all who knew her. Her endless smile, positive attitude, and gift of laughter will live on. We extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the many caregivers who graciously, respectfully and compassionately cared for our mother, Joan, these past four years. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; son, John; parents, Barbara and John, brother Jimmy and sister, Georgianne. She is survived by her sons: Robert (Sue), Chris; daughters: Barbara (Mike) Murphy, Gail Baker, Kim, Karen (John) O'Meara; sisters: Martha and Irene; brother: Art; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. A Vigil Service will be held Monday, March 21, at 7:00 p.m. Hennessy-Smith Funeral Home 2203 N. Division St., Spokane, WA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 22, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1503 W. Dean Ave. Interment will be at Riverside Memorial Park, 211 N. Government Way. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Providence Marianwood Foundation, 3725 Providence Point Dr. SE, Issaquah, WA 98029.
