Joseph Nilles Obituary

NILLES,
Joseph R.
(Age 70)

Entered into rest on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in Deer Park, Washington after a long illness. He was born on March 28, 1941 in Chewelah WA to Joseph W. and Lena Nilles as the fourth of eight children. He moved to Spokane in the 5th grade, graduating from Rogers High School. He worked 35+ years for the telephone company as a Central Office Technician, retiring in 2001. Over the years, Joe enjoyed golfing, camping, fishing and bowling. He was a passionate family man as he loved spending as much time as possible with his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed traveling to see them after buying several new cars over the years. He will be most remembered for putting smiles on others faces with his sense of humor and joking around. Joe is survived by his wife of 29 years, Barbara and his eight children (Sonya, Jeff, John, Jamie, Tammie, Fred, Jarrod and Brendan) and 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers (Bob and John), four sisters (JoAnn, Corrine, Ellen, and Cheryl), and many friends and extended family members. Joe was preceded in death by his parents and oldest brother, Everett. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday June 6th at St. Francis of Assisi Church at 11 am, located at 1104 W Heroy, Spokane. There will be a reception following the service in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to make a donation in Joe's name to the Multiple Sclerosis Society at 818 E. Sharp, Spokane WA 99202. Please sign Joe's online guestbook at www.hennesseyfuneralhomes.com. Arrangements entrusted to
