Passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 after a short fight with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Erie, PA., to Casimir and Stephania Rowicki on January 21, 1941.
After graduating in 1959 from Melbourne High School, he attended Brevard Florida Technical College. He worked at Cape Canaveral with NASA, as a computer technician until joining the Army in 1961. He was assigned to the Army Security Agency (ASA) and stationed in Okinowa where he met his wife, Toyoko. After reaching the rank of SSG, he left the Army in 1967 and worked with the California School District as a computer consultant. He retired from the Santa Rosa School District as one of their Chief Computer Technicians in 2007; moving to Spokane to be near family.
Leonard is predeceased by his parents Casimir and Stephania Rowicki of Spokane; he is survived by his wife of 45 years, Toyoka at the home, a daughter Hiromi (Takafumi) Sasaki of Seattle, WA, brothers John (Lynn) Rowicki, Frank Rowicki, Michael Rowicki, sisters Celine Rowicki, Deborah (Fred) Wayne and Mary Jane (Tim) Fitzgerald all of Spokane, WA. He will be missed by all as a loving husband and father and a dear brother.
Memorial Services will be held on Sunday at 2:00 p.m., May 15, 2011 at the Spokane Community Center, 8019 W. Sunset HWY, of Spokane, WA. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
