Matthew Rhudy Obituary

RHUDY,
Matthew Allen

Matt died suddenly on 12/17/2010, at the age of 37. Preceded in death by his father Victor, he is survived by two brothers, Eric Randall and Bill Walje, his loving niece Ryann Randall, his lovable little furballs Rocko and Guido, and many friends and co-workers. Matt was very happily employed by Cycrest Systems, working for Kaiser Aluminum, in Spokane, WA. Barbara, Dan, and Julie -- know that the three of you will always be held very close to his heart, and Jonathan and Steve -- know that Matt always spoke of the two of you with the utmost respect. In Matt's memory, please consider making a donation to the Humane Society.

I saw a man catching the bus outside of our house the other day and caught myself wishing it was you. From afar he looked like you. Every day I wish you were here with us. I miss eavesdropping on Eric's great conversations with you and getting the scoop on what was new for you after he hung up. I loved how the two of you related to each other, how you both overcame so much in life and could still find a way to laugh about it, you are survivors! You were brilliant and could converse about anything. I felt so much closer to you after Eric's graduation. Spending some time with you while we waited for Eric's special ceremony was such a gift. In that short amount of time I got a glimpse at your sense of humor, your tender side and your perspective on the "pomp and circumstance". You were proud of your brother's accomplishment and saw it as an additional sign of his resilience as a person.

I remember when you and Eric reconnected. That was a guarded phone conversation and I believe at the end you expressed a desire to atleast be on each others Christmas card list and see where it took you. Over the next three years you became so much more than an acquaintance...you were family. You were brother, uncle and friend. Thank you for the gift that you gave my family, thank you for reaching out to Eric. In the end, I believe, you knew what 'family' meant. Love you brother :)

Have a job interview tomorrow with CGI, and one on Monday with Amazon -- so send your older brother some positive vibe, eh? I wish I could talk with you about all of this, because you're a lot smarter than I am at all of this stuff :)

Your niece is trying to stand. Kind of pulling herself up on the edge of the couch, bath tub -- you name it.

Hey Matt, O.T. and I are sure going to miss you. You spent so much time at our house when you were in school, it was like having a son.
You taught me so much about computers and always made me feel smarter than I though I was.
We loved you like family. I cried the day Julie said you were back in her life. We all missed you so much and loved you and thought of you so often. We glad you had that time together. I'm grateful she was able to connect with you again. We all miss you.
Love,
Francine & OT Hill

Matt, your loving memory will be with me, all my friends and loved ones, my parents Mel and Katie forever. Always willing to help, offer an opinion, debate an issue (he was usually right!) and to keep me tuned up to the latest music. As you always said "Very Cool"

While I have never met Matt, I have heard some endearing stories about him- enough to know that he was very loved by those that were close to him. Eric, you are in my thoughts. May you find peace in your love for and memories of your brother Matt.

Never has someone inspired me as Matt did. We had so many thought provoking discussions. I never had a friend that I could talk and relate to as well as I did with Matt. Someone who also did not grow up in the best enviornment but always desired to better himself. Matt you help me realize why I was different from those I grew up with. Just as you did, I wanted something better. Thank you so much for being such a great friend. You will be greatly missed. Also thanks for the Tapatío!
