Maureen Gann Obituary

GANN, Maureen (Jensen)
"Myra" "Jeanie"
June 15, 1934 -" May 13, 2011

Proud mother, loving grandmother and the most selfless, giving person we will ever know. Myra is survived by her children: three sons Garry Jensen of Bend, OR, Jeff (Vicky) Jensen and Mark Jensen of Spokane Valley and three daughters Karen (Neil) Hansen, Vickie (Manuel) Sutherland and Gail (Jeph Yarnell) Knigge, all of Spokane. She is also survived by grandchildren Cody Sutherland, Hailey Jensen, Brandon (Jennifer) Underwood and Derek Underwood, all of Spokane, grandson Josh (Gretchen) Sutherland of Coeur D' Alene, ID, granddaughters Nicole Byer (Chris) and Tasha Jensen of Bend, OR; eight gorgeous great-grandchildren also survive her. Born in Spokane on June 15, 1934 to parents Laverne and Verna Karle and graduated from West Valley High School in 1952. Myra spent most of her life in Spokane area and was raised primarily by her loving grandparents Frank and Mamie Hilton. In 1953 she married her first husband Enoch (Duff) Jensen. On May 27, 1982 he married Cecil Gann. Besides raising six children, Myra spent several happy years tending bar and Mike's Welcome Tavern in the Spokane Valley. She also worked as a substitute special education aide for the Central Valley School District. She was a member of VFW's Women's Auxiliary.
Her children take great comfort knowing the love of her life, Cecil Gann, is waiting to welcome her in Heaven along with many people who loved her for her concern and kindness, but preceded her in death. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, May 20, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. at the LDS, Bowdish Chapel, 40th and Bowdish. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the Jensen family to help Mark Jensen.
